This module was completely rebuilt and is now part of the PoolParty Taxonomy Manager module. The SKOS Importer module will therefore not be developed / maintained anymore.
SKOS Importer was built on the Feeds-module and imports (multilingual) SKOS thesauri into Drupal as taxonomies/terms.
Possibilities
- Use your SKOS thesauri in Drupal by importing them in the RDF/XML-format.
- Have your tags, categories etc. always up to date by automated periodic imports.
- Use multiple thesauri in multiple languages at the same time in one Drupal system by creating multiple importers.
- Connect several Drupal sites with a central Thesaurus / Taxonomy and thereby contextualise / mash-up content from multiple Drupal information systems.
Features
- Have your taxonomy-terms always up to date in Drupal by automatically importing the configured RDF/XML-file periodically.
- The URIs of the concepts are still existent and available to use in the Drupal system.
- Select the data-source (upload your SKOS-thesaurus in RDF/XML-format or use an external URL to such a file)
- Multilingual thesauri are supported. Choose if multiple languages should be imported (if not, the terms will be imported language-neutral)
- Customize the resulting taxonomy-hierarchy. Choose if a taxonomy should get created for every ConceptScheme or if all ConceptSchemes should be imported into a single taxonomy.
- Select additional data to import (alternative labels, hidden labels, scope notes, has related)
- Multiple importers can be created and used at the same time.
How to use
Requirements:
- To use this module you need to already have a SKOS-thesaurus in RDF/XML-format.
Usage:
- Download the module.
- Download the ARC2-library and add ARC2.php and all the other files and folders to "sites/all/libraries/arc2".
- Activate the module (after all required modules are installed).
- Create and configure your SKOS Importers at "admin/structure/skos-importer" or by visiting Structure -> SKOS Importers.
- Do an initial import of the SKOS data at "admin/content/skos-import" or by visiting Content -> SKOS Import content (or let a cronjob do the work for you if you configured an automated periodical import)
