About the Service Club
Service Clubs: Event and Asset Management
Service Clubs aims to assist clubs, communities, and organizations that rely on volunteers, with the goal of the system to minimize manual workload by automating and simplifying tedious management tasks.
Features
Event Management
Reduces manual workload and redundancy in carrying out event management tasks
Event management allows events to be created with the input of essential information such as location, date and time, as well as a description of the event, along with the ability to update and cancel the events created.Â
Additionally, registrants can respond in a few clicks. When the event is created, updated, or cancelled, an automatically generated email is sent to all registered members. In return, members can respond and acknowledge the email by clicking on a link in the email.Â
Effectively, tedious tasks are now trivial with event management being made easy.
Asset Management
Enables service clubs to document, track, and audit assets belonging to the clubs
For example, a trailer belonging to the club is categorized as an asset. Assets are tracked by associating assets to the events created and associating assets to relevant stakeholders, as well as being able to document the license and registration details of the asset.
The process of managing club assets, simplified.
User Profiles
Allows members to decide personal details to be shown or hidden
User profiles module consists of private and public member profiles which conform to Australian privacy guidelines by allowing the user to select personal details to be shared or kept private.
Background
This project is created to allow Service Clubs to have a release built for them. The Service Clubs organise Community based events. This first release is built for this stage.
This is built in collaboration between the Rotary Club of Wollongong and the School of Computing and Information Technology. Final Year students work on major projects each year. This Project is designed to be built on year by year by future student groups. Though a Rotary Club has been integral to the development this project is designed for all service- volunteer organisations.
This Project has been used by the University of Wollongong Rotaract Club.
