Drupal Content Sync is a module that provides content synchronization features between multiple Drupal sites using the API Unify Backend of Bright Solutions.
This module does nothing stand alone, it requires a connection to a running instance of Drupal Content Sync and the synchronization engine API Unify (contact me to get a demo or access to the service).
The service in combination with this module provides the following features
- Provide a central content and media pool accessible by Drupal sites
- Synchronize content, media and other entities between Drupal sites
- Control the sync process based on entity types
- Define sync rules and mappings for each field of each content type
- Easy content selection for authors using the content browser
- Let content authors clone and sync content from the central content pool
- Recursively sync referenced content and media during the synchronization process
- Integration and synchronization of external data sources
The service is used for example for the following use cases
- Government sites with central press releases and a central media management distributed to other Drupal instances
- University sites with a central event and lecture pool accessible by other sites
- Cooperate sites with central product information which should keep local content changes but synchronize specific common fields on each site
- Synchronization of data between different cloud applications
The service is built to support the synchronization of a huge amount of data, content and media assets between many Drupal sites which can't be handled by Drupal itself.
