Bakelite

Bakelite is meant to be a drupal base theme that implements some of the UI traits of small display devices(eg. smartphone). It would not be suitable for many sites(perhaps most sites) but would be useful at focused, functional sites. The base theme has a lot of 'chrome' that is only there to keep me focused on the target. Bakelite is an HTML5 document and utilizes CSS3 elements.
The base theme is a one column layout that is meant to have an iconic directory on the home page. The directory is meant to be a list of all the thing you want your visitors to do or see at your site, ala a smartphone home page.
This theme was meant to work out of the box without requiring any modules beyond the standard ones or javascript. So it does expect some initial configuration before you can have the appearance in the screenshot.
I took elements of bartik as well as from several other themes that I hope to list later. Some characteristics:

Html5 with css 3 enhancements
'html' and 'body' elements used as wrappers
'modernizr.js' and 'normalizer.css' included
Uses 'hidden' regions

A rough version has been loaded but still lots of work starting with:
Clean it all up
make sure done in the Drupal 'way' and to Drupal standards
de-enhance for IE
